At the second Annual Global Business Conference for investors and financial analysts, General Motors revealed details on a new plan that “will ensure a long-term sustainable performance” for the Detroit automaker.

Among other measures is the massive reduction of platforms used by GM brands globally in order to cut development costs and benefit from economies of scale.

“More of our components will be common and more of our vehicles will be on global architectures” said the GM CEO, Dan Akerson.

Coming to the E23 version, it is provided with only 4- speed automatic transmission. In the era of 1994-2001, the model E38 was released with 5-speed manual transmission. The models in the European markets were 7401, 740d, 730d, 725tds, 725tds, and the 750i that generated 240 kilo watts of power.

The F02 and the F01 versions were launched in January 2009 in the form of 5th generation models as a substitution to the 7-series versions belonging to 4th generation. These cars are paired with 6- speed ZF automatic transmission.

The 2010 BMW 7-series cars are equipped with a 3.0 liter 6- cylinder engine finished with the aluminum material and churn out 183 kilo watts of power, and torque of 400 lb ft at 1,750 rotations per minute.

To upgrade the handling efficiency of the car, the twin wishbone replaces the front suspension McPherson strut. The latest version is offered with the combination of iDrive system and several other advanced functionalities.

BMW 7-Series

The new BMW 7 Series has hit the market in four unique design platforms namely, E68 that was a highly powered hydrogen version, E67 that was a high security version, E66 with extended wheel base, and standard wheel base E65 version. BMW has dropped the manual transmissions across the board, and all latest models work with automatic transmissions.

BMW released 7-series cars in 2007 model year featuring small modifications in both the regions of exterior and interior region. In April 2009, the new model 760Li was formally publicized by the BMW. The car is fully loaded with the dual turbo charged V12 engine that gives out 544 horsepower and permits the vehicle to speed up to 62 mph in only 4.6 seconds!

The shifter automatically puts the vehicle in Park under a variety of conditions, including after the driver has pressed the ignition button to turn the engine off.

The safety agency said BMW submitted additional reports describing other rollaway incidents in "similarly equipped" 2002-2008MY BMW 7-Series vehicles.

"Thus far, no cause has been identified for any of the rollaway incidents," NHTSA said in a statement adding that "a Preliminary Evaluation has been opened to assess the scope, frequency and causes of rollaway incidents in the subject vehicles".

Frankfurt houses a wide variety of museums and art centres, so there's something for everyone in this bustling city. Frankfurt is also credited as being one of the birthplaces of house music in the early 90's - which is still reflected today in the bustling clubs around the city.

Even though Opel makes word of a new 1.4-liter Turbo petrol that replaces the naturally aspirated 1.8-liter unit with the same output, as well as a new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol for the 4x4 model with 30 more horses for a total of 250HP, we know for a fact that both engines were already available in certain market.

That said, we reckon Opel means it will roll out the new engine options to all markets across Europe with the 2012 Insignia.

As a reminder, the 1.4-liter Turbo ecoFLEX offers the Insignia a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 205km/h, while returning a combined fuel efficiency of 5.9lt/100km (39.9mpg US with CO2 emissions of 134g/km.

When we think of Frankfurt, we think of finance. After all, the city is home to the headquarters of the European Central bank and a multitude of financial establishments.

But there's more to the bustling city than meets the eye, and ideal for those looking to book cheap flights and experience the arts. Whether you're looking to take in the sights of the museums, take a river cruise or take a hike within the country's largest in-city forest, Frankfurt is certainly a city to consider for a short break.

Large areas of the city have been rebuilt since the Second World War, however the architecture of the city has managed to keep some of the medieval history whilst being rebuilt - and remains some of the most striking in Europe, with a mix of medieval architecture amongst the high-rise skyscrapers of the financial district.

The official sketches show a lower and sleeker design with more futuristic styling elements than what we saw in the video footage of the car, but that's usually the case with all designer renderings.

Audi says the Urban Concept is an ultra-light car for congested urban spaces that is not based on any previous model. It is built around a central carbonfibre monocoque and rolls on massive wheels with a 21-inch diameter.

Power comes courtesy of two e-tron electric motors that draw energy from a lithium-ion battery.

A sliding canopy that forms part of the body opens up to allow the driver and one passenger to enter the car. The cockpit consists of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, which integrates the undercarriage of both seats.

The driver is seated in front and to the left while, the passenger behind and to the right. Audi says the driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to his own body measurements.
